Join us this month as we celebrate the magnificent heritage and history of the music genre we all love: jazz.
“Intended to stimulate and encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz – to stud the music, attend concerts, listen to jazz on radio and recordings, read books about jazz, and more” as state on the Smithsonian National Museum of American History‘s website (founders of JAM in 2002).
2017 JAM Featured Musician is Ella Fitzgerald – “The First Lady of Song”.
“A lot of singers think all they have to do is exercise their tonsils to get ahead. They refuse to look for new ideas and new outlets, so they fall by the wayside… I’m going to try to find out the new ideas before the others do.” – Ella Fitzgerald
